Peggy and Phil Johnson began their business in 1978 while living in Genoa, Ohio.  They started by selling their handcrafted creations at area art shows and gift shops.  Peggy's specialty was tole painting and Phil's talents were picture framing and original designs in wood.  Peggy also kept busy at home with their three young children, Christy, Corie, and Ryan.  Phil enjoyed the challenges of being a physical education teacher at Genoa High School.

As their business grew, the Johnsons moved back to their roots in Henry County in 1981.  They opened their shop at its current location, one mile south of Napoleon, Ohio, and also continued with art shows.  Phil soon left his teaching career and the shop was expanded in 1986 to gain showroom space and a larger frame shop.  In 1992 a seasonal ice cream shop was opened featuring two walk-up windows and outdoor seating.

The gift shop is a delightful showcase full of decorating accessories, quality handcrafted items, seasonal decorations and gifts, and complete framing services.  Current decorating trends are featured, and Peggy's painting and floral designs are evident throughout the shop.  Custom orders are welcome.

An Annual Back Yard Tent Sale is held every summer in early July.  You can find drastic markdowns and bargains while browsing under the tents.  It's a festive three days with great specials in the ice cream shop.

The annual Christmas Open House is held the second weekend in November.

There are expanded showrooms and extended holiday hours till Christmas.
